About the Artist
Chuba Oyolu Ph.D. was born on the 28th day of July 1982 in Enugu, Nigeria. He grew up in Lagos in a close-knit family as the last of 5 children. He moved to the United States in 2000 and has since gone on to earn a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering both at Stanford University. During his academic career, Chuba has been named University Scholar (3 times), Class Valedictorian, Patent Inventor, Siebel Scholar, and member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is currently Founding Scientist at Counsyl Inc in the San Francisco Bay area.
Chuba has a myriad of interests and is especially passionate about art in all forms, blues music, science, creative writing, fitness (strength training, agility training, swimming), and the beautiful game (soccer). He remains a devoted Arsenal fan even through the many recent barren trophy less years.
Chuba developed an interest in the fine arts in early 2007 during a time of transition between Pittsburgh, PA and Stanford, CA. He is a huge Michelangelo fan and also has big admiration for Leonardo, Jonathan Ive, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Chuck Close. Chuba also loves to play both electric and acoustic guitar, and appreciates the musical brilliance of Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, John Mayer, Bob Dylan, and Alicia Keys. Currently, he lives a simple and unassuming life in San Bruno, CA.
